For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 5:20
Marc reminds us of Jesus’ hard teaching in Matthew 5, that unless our righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, we cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus also challenges us to give and serve in secret, so that our reward is in Heaven, not on Earth.
Marc encourages us to choose gratitude in our own circumstances and look for opportunities to come alongside someone and help them out.
